School of Earth, Environment, and Society Graduate Student Collective (SEES-GSC)

Description

The SEES-GSC is a group of graduate students in the School of Earth, Environment, and Society (SEES), who organize social and academic events for the greater SEES graduate student community. The goal of the group is to improve graduate student life and support both extracurricular and academic journeys of its students.

Aim

Our aim is to promote the study of Earth and Environmental Sciences as well as Geography in the McMaster Graduate community. To do this, the SEES-GSC organizes a series of informal research seminars, field trips, alumni events, and other social events such as photo contests and scavengers hunts to encourage the discussion and sharing of knowledge and experiences from these ever-growing fields. We also promote the presentation and discussion of topics related to but outside of Earth and Environmental Sciences as well as Geography such as Biology, Chemistry, Health Sciences, Anthropology, and many others. The SEES-GSC will also provide a relaxed space for social interaction and fostering of friendships amongst graduate students who may not have the opportunity to do so otherwise.
