Q1: Who will be charged for coverage?
A: Full-time and part-time graduate students, including international students, students away on exchange, and MBA students are charged for both the Health and Dental plan. More details here.
Q2: What if I have opted out of the Health and/or Dental plan?
A: If you have opted out of either/both plans during your respective Change-of-Coverage period, you can choose your refund method, either electronic money transfer (EMT) or direct deposit later in the semester. If you have selected EMT as your refund method, you will set your own password (which you can retrieve using the Password Retrieval Tool)
Q3: I am a CUPE Unit 1 (TA/RA) student. Will I be receiving a refund?
A: If you are a CUPE Unit 1 student, you will receive an automated refund later in the semester as a tuition credit or cheque refund. Please note the cheque refund will be sent to your address on file with the University. If you wish to confirm your mailing address on file, please contact Alumo in September (if you’re a Fall CUPE Unit 1 member) or January (if you’re a Winter CUPE Unit 1 member).
Q4: I am A Divinity student, what plan do I have access to?
A: You have access to the GSA Health Plan only, you are not eligible for the GSA Dental Plan.
Q5: What am I covered for?
A: Under the Health and Dental plan, you have access to coverage for prescription drugs and vaccinations, paramedical practitioners, vision benefits, dental and travel! Find our more details on these benefits here.
Q6: How can I submit/view my claims?
A: Submit/view your claims through the Securian Canada Student Health Portal mobile app, available on the App Store and on Google Play. You may have to create an account with your member ID. If you are unsure how, follow these steps.
