McMaster University International Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (Mac-ACS)

The McMaster University International Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society (Mac-ACS) aims to bring together a community of chemists and engineers across various disciplines to advocate and promote green chemistry practices.  Members will have the opportunity to engage with the American Chemical Society’s network of chemists and with the local Hamilton community.  Special seminars, professional development workshops, networking opportunities, ACS awards, and ACS conference support are some of the benefits this club will bring to the McMaster graduate student community.

Mac-ACS will promote interdisciplinary research and networking opportunities across different disciplines within the McMaster GSA.  We aim to collaborate with existing GSA clubs such as CHEGSS, MCGSS, and CCB EDI to host various workshops, networking opportunities, and seminars for students.  We will also target community engagement with the local Hamilton community to provide public awareness surrounding green chemistry practices.  This is a necessary gap that needs to be addressed as green chemistry practices are becoming more urgent in research and industry.
